316 Stainless Steel Tank Vent with Cap

On the ship, many enclosed equipment require ventilation. For example, freshwater tanks, fuel tanks, sewage tanks, etc. When these devices are in operation, the internal pressure will keep changing. If there is no tank vent, the equipment may be damaged. However, if the tank vent is left open directly, seawater and debris will flow back in. The two 316 stainless steel tank vents we have launched – the straight tank vent with cap and the 90°tank vent with cap – are precisely designed to address this contradiction.

Where is the tank vent installed?

It is directly installed on the top or side of the equipment that requires ventilation.During installation, you need to make an opening on the device wall and then fix the tank vent.It is an independent accessory in itself. You don’t need to replace the original equipment. All you need to do is install or replace this tank vent.

Why is 316 stainless steel necessary?

The environment on the ship is quite unique. The seawater and humid air will continuously put pressure on the metal parts.Tank vent made of different materials have varying degrees of durability.316 stainless steel has a better resistance to salt. Therefore, 316 stainless steel is widely regarded as a more suitable material for ship use. After a 316 tank vent is installed properly, it can be used for many years under normal maintenance.

What scenarios do the straight tank vent with cap and the 90°tank vent with cap respectively apply to?

The straight tank vent with cap is suitable for use in scenarios where there is ample space above the installation location. For example, a device on the deck that expels air upwards will not encounter any obstacles. This structure is the simplest and has the least resistance during the exhaust process.

The 90°tank vent with cap is suitable for scenarios with limited space. For instance, in the cabin, there might be a piece of equipment that is only a few centimeters above the bottom of the cabin. At this point, by using a 90°tank vent with cap, the exhaust port can be directed to the side.

Additionally, if you do not want the exhaust outlet to face upwards, use a 90°tank vent with cap, orienting the opening downward or sideways. This will significantly enhance the protective effect.

Purchase and Replacement Tips

If you already have old tank vent that need to be replaced, please first measure the specifications of the interface. Our products can directly replace most common-sized old tank vents without the need to modify the original structure. It is recommended to also check whether the sealing gasket at the installation location is in good condition. If the gasket has become aged and hardened, it is best to replace it together.
